World Habitat Day Ground Breaking
Monday, October 1, is World Habitat Day. This is an observance sponsored by the United Nations all over the world to remind all peoples that everyone needs a decent place to live. This year, Habitat for Humanity of Polk County will celebrate the day with a groundbreaking for our 15th home, at 5:30 p.m., at our next site on Bluebird Ave. in Livingston. We would like to invite everybody to come celebrate with us and meet the Wyatt family, who we are building the next home for.
We would also like to take a moment to recognize Timberwood Convalescent Center who has made a large contribution of $10,000 towards the building of this home. Not only do we thank you, but so does the Wyatt family. We are one step closer in making their dreams of a new home into a reality.
